FAQ
Can I register day-of-race?
Yes! But you’ll only have between 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on the day of the race to do so. Early Registration is recommended.
Can I walk?
Yes! Walkers are welcome. We ask that you start closer to the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time.
Can I bring my stroller/dog/iPod?
Yes! Strollers, wheelchairs and dogs (must be on leash) are welcome. We ask that parties with dogs and strollers start near the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time.
MP3 players are welcome as well. Runners should be aware that this is an open course, with no street closings. Race personnel will be at major intersections to monitor traffic – however please be alert at all times.
How long is the 5k Race?
Five kilometers or roughly 3.1 miles.
How does this race benefit the Goodwill Inn?
Proceeds from the race, including money from sponsors and entry fees, will be given directly to the Goodwill Inn.

I don’t want to run, but I would like to volunteer. How do I go about doing so?
Those wishing to volunteer for the race may contact the race director via email at info@runforsheltertc.com.
I like running, but I’m no purist. Where can I park my car?
There is limited parking at Willow Hill Elementary, and along Hill Street.
What type of surfaces make up the course?
The race is run mostly on paved road, with a short trail section through Hickory Meadows.
Will I be timed?
Yes. We are able to keep track of your time using the bottom portion of your race bib. Results will be posted shortly thereafter and will be posted online in the days following the race.
Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are more than welcome to watch from alongside the course, provided they offer no obstruction to the course.
